RCB deducts massive tax evasion scandal
The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has deducted the massive tax evasion scandal of Rs 50 million as this was the first huge scandal which scanned in the history of board, sources revealed.According to sources, the chairman and high officials of the board have issued notices of tax collection amounting of Rs50 million to more than three plaza’s owners in the Saddar area who did not pay a single penny to the board in the connection of tax since last ten years.
When current administration of the board reviewed the tax issues of the three plazas that some plaza owners have been established trust just to save tax, sources revealed.However, board administration came to know during investigation that an owner of three plazas receives Rs. 200,000 per month from the tenants and all rent is made deposited in Saddar different banks.
Sources said that when cantonment board checked financial matters of S K trust it observed huge financial embezzlements in the trust’s accounts. Board official this scribe that the cases would be registered under the criminal act against the owner of three plazas after the completion of further investigations.
It has also revealed by the sources that aforesaid plazas’ owner threatened the board’s official that his relations are with the army leadership. But the board while giving no importance to this threat has decided to receive tax theft and recovery more than Rs30mn would be ensured, sources added.
