Members of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) continue their boycott of major public hospitals across Punjab on the fourth-day of their strike.<\/p>\n
Patients seeking medical aid continue to suffer as most government hospitals are without adequate staff.<\/p>\n
Negotiations between the government and the YDA leaders failed to end the stalemate on Thursday.<\/p>\n
YDA members have boycotted hospitals in Lahore, Gujrat, Faisalabad and Rahim Yar Khan, among other cities, as part of their strike.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, at least four people were reported to have died at Allied Hospital, Faisalabad owing to the YDA strike.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the strike had caused deaths of two patients in Jinnah and Services hospitals of Lahore, it was reported on the first day of the strike on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
But the administrations of the hospitals denied the occurrence of any such incident. Besides, it was not ascertained whether the patients were brought dead or died at the medical facilities.<\/p>\n
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the deaths at Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.<\/p>\n
