Lawmakers visit GHQ, hold session with COAS<\/h3>\n

A delegation of defence committees from the Senate and the National Assembly visited the General Headquarters on Monday, said a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).<\/p>\n

The delegation also held a session with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.<\/p>\n

The lawmakers were given a detailed briefing on the evolving security situation, including the situation on the country’s borders.<\/p>\n

The delegation was led by Senator Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum, and also laid a wreath at the Martyr’s monument.<\/p>\n

The session concluded with a resolve to continue the struggle against the menace of violent extremism through a synergetic national approach based on the principle of \u201ccollective potential and shared responsibility\u201d, added the ISPR.<\/p>\n
