Nahakki tunnel in Mohmand Agency inaugurated by COAS<\/h3>\n

Ghalanai-Mohmand Gat road along with the Nahakki tunnel were inaugurated by the COAS on Wednesday at Mohmand Agency, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).<\/div>\n

14 Km’s of the 41 km road has been completed in the first phase of the project while the work on remaining portion is in progress.<\/p>\n

The project once completed will facilitate the locals, interagency travellers will be able use this to boost trade as it will become a trade route with Afghanistan through Nawa Pass.<\/p>\n

Frontier Works organisation is undertaking the project.<\/p>\n

The professional undertaking and quality of the work done by FWO was appreciated by the COAS.<\/p>\n

COAS while speaking at the occassion thanked the local tribesmen for the great support that they rendered to the Pakistan Army in getting rid of the terrorists. COAS added that to achieve enduring peace and stability development projects were essential.<\/p>\n

COAS was thanked by the tribal elders for the provision of security and ongoing development projects.<\/p>\n

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zaffar Jhagra,\u00a0Commander Peshawar Corps, and director general FWO\u00a0were also present at the occasion.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, COAS had visited Swat and inaugurated Army Public School and College (APS&C) at Kanju Garrison, Swat Cantt.<\/p>\n

“A state of the art infrastructure with a present capacity of 3,600 students, computer and science labs, auditorium, and sports stadium is a gift from Pakistan Army for resilient people of Swat in recognition of their contributions and sacrifices in defeating terrorism,” the press statement by Army’s media cell had stated.<\/p>\n
