The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday suspended left-arm fast-bowler Mohammad Irfan from all cricketing activities after the latter admitted during investigation that he had failed to inform the PCB\u2019s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) about the contacts made by bookies to him before the start of the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
\nIn a statement, the PCB said that Irfan had been given two weeks to defend the charge brought against him.
\n\u201cThe Pakistan Cricket Board in furtherance to its investigation into potential corrupt practices has today issued a notice of charge to Mohammad Irfan under the PCB Anti-Corruption Code,\u201d the\u00a0PCB statement said. \u201cHe [Irfan] has also been provisionally suspended with immediate effect from participating in all forms of cricket.
\n\u201cPCB\u2019s investigation will continue with regard to any questionable activity by any player and player support personnel as it carries on with its mission of eliminating the menace of corruption from cricket.\u201d
\nTwo Islamabad United players \u2014 Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif \u2014 have also been previously suspended and are facing the prospect of life bans.<\/p>\n
