BAFTA Craft Awards 2018 Hosted By Stephen Mangan: British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) announced the winners of this year’s British Academy Television Craft Awards, at a ceremony hosted by actor Stephen Mangan at London restaurant The Brewery.
The BBC co-produced drama Three Girls was the biggest winner. There were also awards for the dramas Charles III, SS-GB and Taboo, while Charlie Brooker’s dark comedy Black Mirror picked up an award for Best Special, Visual and Graphic Effects for the episode Metalhead.
Game of Thrones was given a BAFTA Special Award at 2018’s British Academy Television Craft Awards that took place in London on April 22nd, 2018. Actors Hannah Murray and John Bradley from the hit series, who play Sam and Gill, received the award on behalf of the team. According to BAFTA officials, the award also recognizes the support that Game of Thrones has provided for high-end TV production in UK.

Chairman of BAFTA television committee stated for Game of Thrones, “The craft behind what is one of the most popular dramas of our time is nothing short of incredible. From the breathtaking location shots to the intricately designed costumes and set pieces, and not forgetting the level of detail from the make-up and prosthetics team are just to name a few.”
Game of Thrones took home a trio of awards at BAFTA Craft Awards, which honor the best of behind-the-scenes talent in film and TV, with a focus on projects produced in the UK.
The Special Award is not given every year, but the BAFTA decided it was time to recognize the Game Of Thrones for all it has done.
BAFTA has set the dates for its next EE British Academy Film Awards and their LA-based cousins, the British Academy Britannia Awards. The BAFTAs will be held in London on Sunday February 10, 2019 honoring the best work of any nationality seen on British cinema screens.
