British Police not sharing Manchester attack details with US: Officials at the UK were outraged when they saw photos appearing which showed debris from the attack appearing in an US based newspaper. These pictures were leaked soon after name of the bomber Salman Abedi was leaked to the US after the attack.

Greater Manchester Police hopes to resume normal intelligence relationships a two way flow of information soon, however it is currently “furious” as has been described.

The leading investigation in the ground is being conducted by the force, the force gives its information to the National Counter Terrorism, after which it is shared across the government and because of the Five Eyes intelligence sharing agreement with the US, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

Early information suggests that in total eight men are now in custody following the attack, which was carried out by Manchester born Abedi, a 22 year old from a family of Libyan origin. Information has emerged which suggests that two people who had known Abedi at college had made separate calls to a hotline to warn the police about his extremist views.

In a statement, Theresa May said that she would tell President Donald Trump at the Nato meeting that the intelligence shared with the US “must remain secure.”

On Monday 25th, May, 2017, the Manchester attack had claimed the lives of 22 people, which included children and injured 64.

At the occasion Home Secretary Amber Rudd had said that she was “irritated” by the disclosure of Abedi’s identity against the UK’s wishes and had warned Washington that “it should not happen again“. However, the pictures of debris which appear to show bloodstained fragments from the bomb and the backpack used to conceal it were subsequently leaked to a US based newspaper, prompting an angry response from within Whitehall and from UK police chiefs.
