Earth Day On 22nd Of April

Earth Day is a yearly event celebrated on April 22nd. Globally, various events are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970.

Nelson chose the date in order to maximize participation on college campuses for what he conceived as an “environmental teach-in”. He determined the week of April 19–25 was the best time as it does not fall during exams or spring breaks.
