Indigenous Digital Mapping In Pakistan: TPL Maps has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with what3words (w3w), a global multi-award winning location technology company to enable Pakistani consumers to navigate with more precision and accuracy.

“Now, everyone, everywhere, can accurately find and share a location quickly, easily and with less ambiguity than any other system,” states the press release. It is a buggy alternative to Google Maps just launched in Pakistan.

The partnership between the first digital mapping company and w3w will promote the benefits of using simplified 3-word addresses to “facilitate various industries in Pakistan” including logistics, e-commerce, travel, and tourism.

TPL Maps will be available to user through three mediums; app, web-maps and its In-Dash product.

“We are thrilled to have partnered with TPL Maps, Pakistan’s second largest mapping company. The collaboration paves the way for both B2B and B2C expansion nationally,” said Tom Blaksley, Partnerships Manager Middle East, what3words.

Users will soon be able to enter 3-word addresses using TPL Maps to navigate them to the location.

TPL Maps has demonstrated its commitment towards investing in innovative solutions to enhance its business operations for consumers in Pakistan. The company has successfully launched Pakistan’s first indigenous digital mapping solution along with a competition to lets users ‘Map Pakistan’.

Pakistan’s online maps are dominated by Google Maps with most users using the Google app for navigation purposes. TPL Maps is trying to break into the local sphere of online mapping and acting as a domestic alternative to Google Maps.
