“Main Tharparkar Hoon” Documentary Premiered in Thar

“Main Tharparkar Hoon” Documentary Premiered in Thar: The documentary screened at the village Malhnor Vena, which explores the current scenario of the academic and scientific approach of Thari students, was based on Thar’s Science and Math Festival organized by Thar Education Alliance.

Premiere of the documentary ‘Main Tharparkar Hoon’  was held this week in desert Thar. The documentary aims at encouraging young talent to further explore the subject of science.

The documentary screened at the village Malhnor Vena, which explores the current scenario of the academic and scientific approach of Thari students, was based on Thar’s Science and Math Festival organized by Thar Education Alliance.

After the screening, the teachers, students, villagers and many social activists shared their opinions regarding the state of education in Thar and discussed ways to enable such scientific approaches in Thar.

The documentary has been filmed in the surroundings of Thar with the objective of promoting education in the area.

Founder TEA, Partab Shivani said, “As it is an era of science and technology, an individual can’t establish himself in any field without the basic knowledge of science”.

He added that, keeping these basic factors in mind, TEA decided to conduct tests of mathematics and Science subjects in primary, middle, secondary and higher secondary level students from both private and public institutions.

A two-day event was arranged in which students developed different scientific models, sessions were also conducted and those students who performed best were rewarded with awards of tablets and laptops.

In the last 13 years not a single child has cleared primary stage school in Goth Veri Bheel, Tharparkar.

Locals of Tharparkar have appealed to the authorities to revamp the primary school in their villages.

The population of goth Veri Bheel is around 700, out of which 250 are children, they want the basic right to education.

Children in the village are either working at home or extending a helping hand to their parents at the workplace.

Despite promises, villagers’ demand of building basic school infrastructure has not been fulfilled by their political representatives.

In Goth Veri Bheel, people have decided to vote for an individual who is ready to fulfill their agenda of education.

Ratan Bheel, a driver, strives to resolve the issue of non-availability of schools in the area and has arranged many gatherings with different social development sector activists to highlight the issue.

Juman Bheel, a villager shared that their elected representatives are not serious in resolving the issue.

Thar Education Alliance (TEA), a local organization working for the betterment of education sector, has managed to make the local school operational again after thirteen years.
