Reebok Fitness Plan Rocks: Reebok wants to make sure everyone has an access to fitness and healthy food options and this time they are planning to target all those who have an access to a gas station. This seems different but lets further get the details on it.

Get Pumped

The fitness giant has announced an initiative called “Get Pumped”. This will be with the partnership of global architecture and design firm Gensler. They both will work on turning the gas stations into fitness hubs. When the gas station gets obsolete, Reebok wants to restructure and repurpose the spaces into hubs where “people can prioritize their mental and physical wellness.”

For this purpose, in the first step Reebok and Gensler have identified three tiers of gas stations:

The Network: Major interstate rest stops

Mini-marts will turn into “farm-to-table eateries” and juice bars. Customers can relax with yoga and meditation pods.

The Oasis: Stations on local highways

Small, local highway gas stations will become “recharge zones” and they will offer charging ports for the car as well as mental health refreshments.

The Community Centers: Stations in small towns

Smaller, back road gas stations will become “community centers.” Reebok plans to add nutrition classes, local food, and pop-up trucks with rotating fitness options like spinning and Cross Fit.

Reebok while sharing details stated that major rest stops will transform from places to pick up Popeye’s and Cinnabons into the “power grid of the future”. Road trippers will be able to use fitness under “the network”.

Working with Gensler has allowed Reebok to imagine a future where there is zero barrier to entry for an opportunity to work out and be healthy. Instead of wasting gas stations, recycle them, and maximize the space so that they become places of community.
