Saudi Arabia’s King Daughter To Be Seized, Arrest Warrants Issued
Saudi Arabia’s King Daughter To Be Seized, Arrest Warrants Issued: An international arrest warrant for the daughter of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz has been issued by the French judge. The court claims that these warrants are as the result of an attack by Princess Hassa Bint Salman’s bodyguard against a worker in her Parisian flat. Princess got into anger after the worker took photographs of her apartment on the chic Avenue Foch, near the Arc de Triomphe. She ordered her guard to beat him up and kept him in prison for several hours. The incident allegedly happened in September 2016 and Princess was reported at the time to have left France shortly after the incident.
Princess Hassa bint Salman is also the sister of the powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Her security team is being accused of armed violence, kidnapping, theft and death threats. Investigation reports said. She will have to answer courts questions regarding the orders she gave to her security team.
Saudi Embassy in Paris has yet to respond and comment. The Saudi government communications office and the royal court were not available for the comments. France has closer ties with Gulf Arab states, in particular Saudi Arabia, due to their hard stand on Iran in nuclear negotiations. Recently, in wake of Saudi crown prince Salman increasing good ties with Trump French Premier Emmanuel Macron has planned to improve ties with Iran.
Analysts are claiming it as a sensitive time for French-Saudi relations as Prince Salman after visiting UK & US this month will be visiting France in April. The warrant was issued in December and Macron’s office did not respond to requests for comment.
