Tactics To Delay Elections 2018 And PTI’s Political Immaturity: Nasir Khosa was a good choice for a caretaker CM but PTI core committee pulled back his name as CM Punjab whereas Mehmood ur Rasheed submitted three other names of Orya Maqbool jan, Ayaz amir and Tahir Izhar while Fawad Chaudhry giving names of Hassan Askari Rizvi and Nasir Durrani has confused the political parties, reflecting political immaturity of PTI.
It also tells if PTI leadership is incapable of finalizing the names for caretaker setup, how could they be able to govern the country.
An obvious divide is seen in PTI, where Shah Mehmood Qureshi & Jehangir Tareen has two different lobbies working in PTI which will affect PTI in the upcoming elections and I can see the repeated situation of 2013 Elections where the member of PTI stood against the party on non-issuance of tickets resulted in loss of PTI elections in 2013.
It seems that things are being operated invisibly as validation of nominations papers have been challenged in Lahore High Court. Election Commission of Pakistan has called the meeting to review the nomination paper that will hamper the process of Elections and further delay them for two to three months. Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is asked to prepare new nomination papers in line with the Constitution and elections act.
Lahore High Court nullifying the nomination papers, which would be submitted by candidates for General Elections 2018, ruling that they did not seek necessary information and declarations such as details on educational background, criminal record or if they are dual nationals may postpone electoral process.
The court has ordered ECP to again add the requirements of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution in the nomination papers.
I believe that it is not in the favor of democracy as this country needs real democracy prevailing in true letter and spirit even the worst democracy is better than dictatorship.
It is time for Pakistani nation to observe and decide on the basis of performance of each political party who have been ruling at Federal and provincial level. Also civil society, media and other stakeholders review what the political parties have contributed in the national building and prosperity.
In my opinion, 2018 elections will set progress for Pakistan and at the same time I fear that any wrong decision taken will not be in favor of Pakistan.
It is a collective responsibility to analyze situation at border and identify those hands who are trying to destabilize our mother land, who are creating unrest on the basis of religion and ethnicity.
