Three more arrests linked to Manchester attack: Police had arrested the three men on Wednesday. Earlier on Tuesday 23rd, May, 2017, Abedi’s 23 year old brother was arrested on Tuesday. 22 people were killed and 64 injured when Abedi blew himself up outside an Ariana Grande concert on Monday night.
It is reported that the UK terror threat has been raised up to its highest level that of “critical”, which means more attacks may be imminent. Raising the threat level to critical also means military personnel are being deployed to protect key sites.
As per the police advice, Palace of Westminster has been closed to the public, the palace will not re-open until further notice, a statement on its website said.
The Ministry of Defence has said that the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace has also been cancelled to allow for the redeployment of police officers.
Amber Rudd the Home Secretary said”[Monday’s attack] was more sophisticated than some of the attacks we’ve seen before, and it seems likely – possible that he wasn’t doing this on his own.”
According to the greater Manchester Police it was “confident” that officers know the names of all those killed. It further added that it had made contact with all of the families.
Soldiers will be placed at key institutes which include Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, embassies and the Palace of Westminster said Prime Minister Theresa May.
Police officers will command Military personnel which may be seen at other events over the coming weeks, such as concerts, Mrs May said, working under the command of police officers.
