Lawyers Are Concerned Over Issues Emerged in Supreme Court: Lawyers of KPK have expressed concern over issues which recently emerged in the Supreme Court, one is the hearing of a petition against the appointment of Supreme Court judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa. They will call a general body meeting in which another issue that is retirement of Justice Dost Muhammad Khan without holding court reference will also be discussed.
Rehmanullah, general secretary Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) told media sources with the elected members of PHCBA that the petition does not seek enforcement of any fundamental rights while moving it under Article 194(3) of the Constitution.
Lawyers of Baluchistan have also expressed similar concern over the hearing of the petition against the appointment of Justice Qazi Faez Isa. Balochistan Bar Council passed a resolution to express displeasure over the grant of permission to hear Advocate Riaz Rahi’s petition. The provincial Bar Council will call a conference of bar associations to discuss the issue.
Justice Qazi Faez Isa is the only judge who represents Balochistan in the 17-judge Supreme Court.
Not holding full court reference in honour of Justice Dost Muhammad Khan
Another issues lawyers are concerned about is the retirement of Justice dost Mohammad khan. The Registrar of Supreme Court has issued a letter to the PHC Registrar to explain the situation. Supreme Court registrar office claims that Dost Muhammad Khan had sent a note to his (Supreme Court Registrar) office mentioning family engagements and court work as reasons of unavailability to attend the full court reference.
Lawyer’s Will Be Consulted to Decide About Nehal’s Case
Lawyers apex bodies got summoned by Supreme Court to share their opinion and decide about the law practicing license of the Nehal Hashmi over his alleged abusive talk against the Supreme Court.
Hashmi has argued that he was just acting and repeating the words of people who were staying in the jail and were criticizing the system. The court has now called senior lawyers and will hold accountability through them as lawyer’s community have played a great role for the restoration of judiciary and supremacy of the Constitution and law. The court will decide on Nehal’s case after consulting senior lawyers, sources said.
