  1. It is not all fun and games! It does look like the instructor of the class is having a blast, and probably is. But that does not mean he/she just got up one fine day and started teaching a class. It requires extensive knowledge to understand how to stimulate all the muscle groups, how to achieve the goals set by clients for themselves, how to ensure every client gets the maximum out of the class and is satisfied.
  2. Well, what is the product of a fitness trainer? It is basically him/herself! If you’ve ever wondered how to become a fitness trainer/instructor, keep in mind that you will be undertaking most of the investment yourself. This means you will be responsible for paying for certifications and CPR trainings, to name a few. You are selling yourself as a product, but you do have to make sure you strike a balance.
  3. Being a fitness instructor does not mean you get paid to work out. Rather, instructors are often trying to squeeze in their own workouts in the oddest hours, as the rest of the day is spent trying to help all other customers.
  4. It is a never-ending learning experience. Every day, every book and every conference will help teach you something new about the miracle the human body is.
  5. Motivation is key! Motivation will help you stay on the right track in terms of working out.
