US accused of ‘aggressive actions’ over brawl: Turkish foreign minister has told that it had summoned the US ambassador, John Bass, and asked for an investigation. During Erdagon’s key visit a brawl between Turkish security personal and protesters erupted, the brawl resulted in the injury to 11 people. The Police had called it a brutal attack on the protestors however Turkey had blamed the violence on pro Kurdish demonstrators.

US State Departments spokesperson Heather Nauert had said that “the conduct of Turkish security personnel… was deeply disturbing.“Ms Nauert further added that “The State Department has raised its concerns about those events at the highest level.

The incident had happened on Tuesday outside the Turkish ambassador’s residence in Washington, where protestors gathered to lodge a protest. Video footage of the clash shows men in suits charging past police to kick and punch protesters.

The Turkish foreign minister said that”A written and verbal protest was delivered due to the aggressive and unprofessional actions taken, contrary to diplomatic rules and practices, by US security personnel.

The minister further added that “lapses of security“, “were caused by the inability of US authorities to take sufficient precautions at every stage of the official programme“.

The US officials have already summoned the Turkish ambassador over the violence. The Washington police has described it as a “brutal attack on peaceful protesters.

However according to the Turkish embassy the demonstrators were linked to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK). The statement by the Turkish embassy claims that the protestors had aggressively provoked Turkish Americans gathering to greet the president. They in turn had acted in self-defence.

The incident had drew an outcry from US lawmakers, Senator John McCain called for the Turkish envoy to be expelled.
