US Media claims Trumps son in law is under FBI inquiry for alleged Trump Russian links: According to Reports investigators believe that Jared Kushner has relevant information, but he is not necessarily suspected of a crime.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has been looking for potential Russian meddling in the 2016 elections along with what is believed to be Russian links with Mr Trump’s campaign. On the other hand President Trump had denied any collusion. Republican President Trump had beat his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in what the US intelligence agencies believe was result of Moscow’s interference in the 2016 US elections, where Russia had tried to tip the elections in favour of the Democrat nominee President Trump.
According to the reports, US officials have said that there interest in Mr Kushner did not mean that the investigators suspected him of a crime or intended to charge him. In a report it is said that investigators are focusing on the meetings between Russian ambassador to the US Sergei Kislyak, a banker from Moscow and Mr Kushner.
Similarly Congress is also looking into the alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election and any Trump ties.
Mr Kushner’s lawyer on the other hand has said that Kushner would co-operate with any inquiry and has already agreed to discuss his Russian contacts with the Senate Intelligence Committee. Mr Kusnher’s lawyer Jamie Gorelick told the press that “Mr Kushner previously volunteered to share with Congress what he knows about these meetings“. The lawyer further added “He will do the same if he is contacted in connection with any other inquiry.”
White House has been in crisis ever since the allegations that Trump had asked the ousted FBI chief to drop an inquiry into links between his ex national security adviser Michael Flynn and Russia.
Amid the crisis calls for a special investigation have mounted ever since President Trump fired the most recent FBI director James Comey earlier this month.
Conversely, President Trump had described the situation as “the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history.”
