Anti-military posts on social media under PML-N name posted by unknown elements: Iqbal: The Federal Minister of Interior, Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday underscored that the negative posts on social media specially aimed at the military under the banner of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) was posted by unknown people.
According to Iqbal some rogue elements who were not affiliated with the PML-N had been publishing these posts on various channels under the banner of PML-N. Iqbal said it is condemnable and despicable, especially given the current situation of the country.
The interior minister explained “Such actions are unsettling since people and the Pakistan Army are together in the war against terrorism.”
Khwaja Asif, the Foreign Minister in line with the statement made by Iqbal added that some ignoble people through the use of fake social media accounts were trying to create dissent in an environment where the Army is already engaged in maintaining stability in Pakistan.
The actions of these unidentified lements was slammed by Asif, he added that these elements are worsening an already tense political scenario.
On the other hand, in light of Muharram, Asif said “Thank God, the Ashura processions went by peacefully and there was no untoward event.”
The overall efforts and performance of authorities was in keeping peace during the Ashura was praised by the Foreign minister.
Earlier today, Iqbal also clarified that the term “in-house cleaning” refers to strength. He was talking with regard to an earlier statement made by Asif.
A few days back, Asif had said the civil and military leadership are on the same page with regard to how Pakistan has to make a clean break from its past.
