Chief Justice Supreme Court Pakistan Orders For The Provision Of Cholesterol Treatment Machine In 10 Days: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar has ordered the Punjab government to obtain within 10 days the machine required to treat patients with high cholesterol.
He ordered this while hearing a suo motu case on lack of treatment for children born with cholesterol with the 2 member Supreme Court bench headed by the chief justice. CJP observed that if no treatment is available then a patient cannot be left to die. The chief justice ordered that children need to be treated not monitored.
Chief Justice inquired that why our country does not have this machine in any hospital. In response, Punjab Health Minister Salman Rafique assured the court that the machine will be imported and all relevant facilities provided.
As per medical experts there is no treatment for the disease (Children born with cholesterol) the world over, adding that the children are watched at the Services Hospital in Lahore.
Parents complained that they were mistreated in the hospital and sought some other relief until the machine comes to Pakistan. The chief justice remarked that the children will be treated in Pakistan and the parents should not seek an excuse to leave the country.
Children born With Cholesterol
Children also may have high levels of cholesterol, which can cause health problems, especially problems with heart disease, when the child gets older. Too much cholesterol leads to the build-up of plaque on the walls of the arteries, which supply blood to the heart and other organs. Plaque can narrow the arteries and block the blood flow to the heart, causing heart problems and stroke.
Treatment Machine
A treatment that’s similar to kidney dialysis is removing cholesterol from the blood of patients who cannot control cholesterol through diet, exercise and medications.
