Christians Killing Continues in Quetta
Christians Killing Continues in Quetta: In Quetta last night another attack by unknown gunmen killed two Christians. Being a second attack in the same month is widely and strongly condemned.
The attack by unidentified gunmen who were on motorbikes and opened fire at a group of Christians in Quetta’s Esa Nagri neighbourhood, resulted in killing of 2 people and injuring at least five people.
Injured ones were taken to Bolan Medical Complex where two of them died. They were identified as Azhar Iqbal and Rahid. Two girls were also injured.
According to Police, four armed men riding two motorbikes entered Isa Nagri and started shooting people sitting outside their homes. “As a result of intense firing, five members of Quetta’s Christians community were injured and rushed to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital (BMC) for treatment,” Brewery Road SHO Javed Buzdar said. According to him, the attackers managed to escape after the shooting.
Christian community members, including family of the victims, showed their anger ad protested against the attack by burning tyres, suspending traffic on Barori Road and Sabzal Road for nearly three hours, chanting slogans against the provincial government.

Protesters blocked the road by placing bodies of the two victims in the middle. They also protested lack of medical facilities in the hospital. They said that their relatives were not provided immediate medical care.
“Why are we coming under attack? Terrorists are freely attacking us but security forces and the provincial government are playing the role of silent spectator,” said Amjad Faryad, an uncle of slain Rashid Khalid.
Four Christians were shot dead in the city few weeks back and that attack was claimed by a banned militant group. In December last year, two suicide bombers blew themselves up at a Quetta church, which was packed with worshippers, killing nine people and wounding over a more than a dozen.
It was the third terrorist attack on Christians in last four months during which at least 15 people have been killed. Da’ish claimed responsibilities for a suicide bombing at a church last year and also for the Shahzman road targeted killings earlier this month.
Police said they were investigating the attack. Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the Isa Nagri attack and promised a swift response.
A heavy contingent of law-enforcement personnel, including police and Frontier Corps (FC), Balochistan, surrounded the area after the incident.
