Electricity Shortage Would Be A History in Pakistan Saying Chinese Foreign Minister: Addressing the first session of the 13th National People’s Congress (CPC), Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that power projects under the Belt Road Initiatives (BRI) would help in addressing power shortage in Pakistan.

After the completion of more than a dozen power stations that China is building in Pakistan, electricity shortage would be a thing of the past. The project will cover supplying electricity to the tens of millions of Pakistanis. Chinese Foreign Minister said that international, high standard, high quality, result oriented and economically viable Belt Road Initiative (BRI) will benefit the whole world.

In an estimate earlier the twenty one energy projects planned under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will double Pakistan’s present capacity of electricity production by producing 16,400-megawatt electricity after their completion.

With extensive consultations, joint contribution and shared benefits this initiative is a platform for international collaboration. In this project all parties have an equal contribution with a win-win result, he added. BRI is carrying out the required momentum to the economic and social development of the host countries. Highlighting the advantages of the joint ventures, he further added that the local experience of Pakistani companies and the technical skills of Chinese companies will result in a win-win situation

China will be hosting following international events in 2018

  • the Boao Forum for Asia
  • the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Qingdao Summit
  • the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation
  • the first China International Import Expo

It is now stressed that to meet future challenges, Pakistani businesses should have to adjust to changes, by analyzing the Belt and Road Initiative and its impacts, proper allocation of resources, investment in human and organizational development, technological advancement and risk management.
