French Investors Should Come To Pakistan: In Paris while addressing Pakistan Investment forum, Minister of State and Chairman Board of Investment (BoI) Naeem Y. Zamindar said Pakistan offers excellent opportunity to French companies for investment with its 207 million strong consumer base, growing economy and skilled workforce.
The event in Paris was organized by Board of Investment, Embassy of Pakistan to France and Mouvement des Entreprises de France(MEDEF). Chairman BOI invited French investors to benefit from the country’s generous investment policies and assured them of Pakistani government’s full support. Major French companies including Renault, Total, Suez, General Electric, Gemalto, Vinci, Credit Agricole, Surys and Engie were also present at the Pakistan Investment Forum.
Minister of State and Chairman Board of Investment Pakistan led a 17 member Pakistani business delegation to the Pakistan Investment Forum. Representatives of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtnkhwa investment boards as part of business delegation shared their views through presentations about business and investment opportunities in their respective provinces. They offered and highlighted investment opportunities in the following diverse sectors across Pakistan:
- Infrastructure development,
- Agri-products,
- Energy,
- Information Technology
- Pharmaceuticals,
- security equipment
- water management.
Thierry Pflimlin, the president of TOTAL Global Services and representatives of Renault, French Development Agency and Credit Agricole also met chairman BOI in a separate meeting while members of the Pakistani delegation also held business-2-business meetings with their French counterparts.
Board Of Investment (BOI) chairman in giving an interview to French newspapers Le Figaro and Liberation said that such interactions would strengthen the trade and investment relations between the two countries. Moin ul Haq, the ambassador of Pakistan in France on the occasion said that it is high time for French companies to explore Pakistan, which is fast becoming a regional center for “trade and business” due to CPEC investment.
