Imran Khan addresses media after PM’s disqualification
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said on Friday that if the judiciary wants, the powerful can be held accountable.
The PTI chief is addressing the media after the Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz Sharif as the prime minister.
He said today the foundation of Allama Iqbal’s Pakistan has been set.
Khan, who was one of the three petitioners in the case, said he has nothing personal against Sharif.
He lamented that there are two sets of laws in the country: one for the powerful and another for the weak.
“What the JIT did in 60 days could not have been done even in the West,” said Khan, appreciating the work of the high-profile probe team.
“Lastly, I want to thank all those who struggled with me for the past three years. If you had not come out [to protest] we would not be here,” he said.
The PTI chief then announced to hold a rally at Islamabad’s Parade Ground to celebrate Youm-e-Tashakur [Thanksgiving Day] on Sunday.
