Law Suit Against Faizabad Sit-In Lead Rizvi Dismissed
Law Suit Against Faizabad Sit-In Lead Rizvi Dismissed: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) cancelled three cases against Khadim Rizvi and others over their involvement in several cases of violence during the Faizabad sit-in last year.
This also includes an attack on a police check post. ATC Judge Shahrukh Arjumand has stopped the court proceedings against the leaders of the religious party on a request filed by the prosecution.

The prosecuting attorney, in the request, stated that the police are investigating cases from the very beginning. He said that the police will file a new charge-sheet after the completion of the investigation. The prosecutor requested the court to stop the proceedings till the new Challan is filed. The court approved the tribunal’s petition and postponed the case until further notice.
Rizvi was declared a announced lawbreaker by the ATC earlier this month as he and other party leaders are escaping in around two dozen cases registered against them. Earlier this month police pasted a notification on the wall of the seminary of Rizvi and at a famous intersection, besides pasting a notice at the Nawankot police station, asking Rizvi to surrender within 30 days
But Rizvi did not surrender despite the expiry of the deadline. The ATC judge then declared Rizvi and some other party leaders, including Maulana Inayatullah and Sheikh Azhar as proclaimed offenders. As a result the party began protesting in Lahore and Islamabad, blocking all the major roads of the city as well as in other areas of the country. That movement was called off after another agreement with the government.

Last November, Khadim hussain Rizvi religious party workers protested against the government at the Faizabad Interchange of Islamabad for around 3 weeks, bringing the capital to a standstill. Their protest was against changes in the oath that elected lawmakers take. The sit-in ended after an agreement with the government. But cases of violence were filed against Rizvi and his party which are now cancelled by Anti-Terrorism Court.
