Quetta Blasts & Killings Depicts Weak Security Strategy Of The Provincial Government: In two different attacks, three suicide bombers attacked police and other security officials in Quetta causing 10 policemen to embrace martyrdom. These attacks left more than 15 injured who were taken to hospital.

As per details, a suicide bomber drove his motorcycle into a police truck, on a road leading to the airport in the first blast that killed 7 policemen on spot. An estimated 20 kg of explosives were used in the attack, containing ball bearings and nut bolts. These policemen deployed as the security part for the visiting president of the Azad Kashmir and were returning from duty when the attack took place.

Two suicide bombers attacked a check post in the second blast, who detonated their explosives attached to their bodies when captured by security personnel in Mian Gundi Area. As a result three security personnel were martyred and six others were injured near FC camp Quetta.

Law enforcement agencies have cordoned of the entire area and have started investigation. The IG Balochistan, Moazam Jah Ansari, said the bombing was so powerful that the vehicle overturned. He expressed the likelihood of all the attacks being closely linked to each other and stated that  all possible measurements for security will be taken through random snap-checking and patrolling in the respected areas.

Following the bomb blast in Quetta, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh has ordered extraordinary security in Sindh province. IGP directed to make extraordinary security arrangements in the province, especially focusing on sensitive places of the government and private sector including railway stations, airports, shopping centers, markets, hotels, and worship places.

The chief ministers of Punjab and Baluchistan have strongly condemned the terrorist attack and have paid tributes to the martyrs.

Earlier the security situation in Quetta, has remained unstable with frequent attacks shaking the provincial capital.  At least five people were wounded in a suicide attack on an FC check-post in Quetta’s Buleli area earlier this month. Around 8-10 kilograms of explosive material was used to carry out the blast while two citizens were killed on April 16th in Essa Nagri after unknown motorcyclists had opened fire on a small group of people going to the church.

Ex Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik also condemned the incidents and termed them as a continuation of a strong conspiracy against Pakistan which can be traced back to India and Afghanistan.
