Trading With UAE Will Facilitate Pakistan Business Community: In a meeting with President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Hamad Obaid Salem Al Zaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirate (UAE) to Pakistan, has recently discussed different areas to explore ways and means for enhancing bilateral trade between his country and Pakistan.

UAE ambassador while addressing in the meeting termed Pakistan as an ideal country for foreign investment said that there is no security issue, assuring that the UAE investors will soon visit to Pakistan to explore investment opportunities in different trade fields.

Areas for trading that were discussed were

  • UAE Full cooperation for organizing single country exhibitions between both countries.
  • Facilitating the businessmen of Pakistan in acquiring long-term business visas.
  • Working with the Pakistani government and media to project a soft image of Pakistan around the globe.
  • Expo 2020 in Dubai would be a great opportunity for the Pakistani businessmen for establishing B2B contacts with the businessmen of 180 different countries.
  • SCCI gave briefing to UAE ambassador on the potential of Sialkot exports.
  • The need for discouraging indirect sourcing was highlighted, as that is the hindering factor in the bilateral trade.
  • UAE has extended generous humanitarian assistance, support for better health and education to Pakistan whenever required
  • total trade volume between the two countries is around US 8.19 billion dollars with balance of trade in favor of UAE at $7.3 billion which needs a huge improvement through mutual trade and business .

It is the time to understand the policy implications of the rising share and growth of services through effectively managing environment, infrastructure, investment, consumption and other services to remain competitive.

UAE ambassador after the meeting with Pakistan business community also visited several leading industrial units in Sialkot and saw the manufacturing and production processes of the sports goods and surgical instruments.
