Underworld: Blood Wars tops this week’s DVD chart!: The Official Video Chart, the UK’s measuring stick for the most popular DVD and Blu-ray releases of the last seven days, is about to get a lot more dark and mysterious.
Underworld: Blood Wars, the fifth instalment in the Underworld franchise starring Kate Beckinsale, has shifted 35,000 units as of today’s Official Video Chart Update sales flash, and currently sits at Number 2 in the rankings. The supernatural epic is 15,000 copies behind last week’s chart topper Sing (which sold 161,000 last week), but shouldn’t be ruled out just yet.
Previously, the second and third instalments in the Underworld franchise Evolution and Rise of the Lycans hit Number 1 on the Official Video Chart in 2006 and 2009, a history that Blood Wars will hope to repeat. Blood Wars’ immediate predecessor Underworld: Awakening peaked at Number 2 with first-week sales of 103,000.
