At least 48 suspects were taken into custody during police operations in different parts of Lahore on Monday.
According to police, search operations were carried out in different localities of Shafiqabad, Faisal Town and Gulshan Ravi. Biometric device was also used for the identification of residents.
Police also arrested a drug-peddler named Atif during search operation in Faisal Town and recovered one kilogram of hashish from his possession. Police have also registered a case against him.
Meanwhile, 10police checked the identity documents of the residents during house-to-house search in the areas and apprehended at least 47 suspects who failed to produce any identity document.
Police sources said that the search operations were carried out on reports that suspects are present in these areas. Sources further said that the arrested persons were shifted to police station for further investigation.
