5 dispensaries for one million population in Cantt Board areas a tyrannical joke in name of medical facilities

The residents of Cantonment Board Rawalpindi are facing  severe shortage of quality medical facilities, as only five dispensaries are catering to the needs of over 1 million civilians living in area.

According to sources, the dispensers are doing the duty of doctors, while the dispensaries are lacking medicines required  in emergency situation. Three dispensaries have been established in Cantonment Board Rawalpindi, while two have been established in Chakala Cantonment Board, where  doctors are found absent from duty frequently and dispensers perform the functions of doctors;

The statements of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board councilors for establishing dispensaries are proving an eyewash as these have never gone  from theory to practice.    The authorities are only claiming of allocating hefty funds for setting up new dispensaries, while the residents are not provided with quality medical facilities  even after  imposing heavy taxes on them.

Cantonment Board Rawalpindi secretary Focal person Qasier Mahmood claimed that three dispensaries are functioning in area, while construction work of two others has been   completed. He said that furniture will be provided to dispensaries, while paramedical staff will also be deployed soon.

He advised the public that if any doctor is absent and dispenser is discharging  duty in his place the residents should bring the matter into their notices after which, strict action would be taken against the responsible.
