CJP takes suo moto notice of Bahria Enclave accident: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Friday took suo moto notice of the Bahria Enclave stage collapse incident in which several people received injuries last month.
The CJP ordered Islamabad chief commissioner and IGP to submit an inquiry report into the incident within 48 hours.
The notice was taken on media reports that two people were killed and dozens others injured when a stage collapsed during an event at the enclave. According to reports, on the night of April 28, a stage came down during the recording of a private TV channel show in Bahria Enclave, a housing society of Bahria Town.
Reports claimed instead of providing medical aid to the victims, the management staff of the event escaped from the site and turned the lights off, making it difficult to carry out rescue activities.
The injured were reportedly not provided proper medical treatment as the capital city administration allegedly seemed reluctant to take any action in accordance with the law.
