Criticism on Musharraf not to rejuvenate Hashmi’s political career: APML

All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) said Monday that Javed Hashmi cannot rejuvenate his political career by criticizing Musharraf.

In response to Javed Hashmi’s criticism against former President of Pakistan General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, APML Secretary General Dr Muhammad Amjad said that the political career of Hashmi has ended and alleging misdeeds against popular leaders is only an effort to live at media forums.

“We know what he has been doing in the past and why he left Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) but we keep a mum just to respect a senior politician who is also a senior citizen as well” Dr Amjad said in a statement issued here.

“ Off and on Hashmi had been leveling frivolous allegations against Chairman APML Pervez Musharraf but party leadership tolerated the filthy language with patience. We have right to respond all what it has been said but we believe in moral and ethical politics and showing restraints”, APML secretary general said.

He said Javed Hashmi who advocates democracy remained a minister in the cabinet of Zia-ul-Haq. He added it is beyond comprehension that a man who served in the cabinet of a military dictator started opposing another uniformed President; primarily that is to regain fame and relevance in the contemporary politics.

APML General Secretary said the ‘man of principles’ left PTI after ticket to her daughter was denied. Moreover, it is public knowledge that he received money for awarding tickets in the 2013 elections. He said that Hashmi should immediately stop leveling allegations against General Musharraf or APML would give him befitting reply.
