Doctors at District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Jhelum refused to provide medical treatment to a two-month-old baby as his mother forgot to bring her national identity card (NIC) at home.

Per details, the doctors disallowed the mother from entering the ward when she was unable to present a proof of her identity. The baby died soon after being denied immediate medical care.

The family of the child later demonstrated protest by placing the dead body on road and demanded action against the hospital administration.
