FIFA WorldCup 2018 Update: Final played on 15th July of FIFA World Cup 2018 saw France beating Croatia by 4-2
Millions of French football fans were delirious with joy as France beat Croatia 4-2 to win the World Cup in a pulsating final in Moscow and spark ecstatic scenes from Paris to Marseille, Bordeaux and beyond.
France´s World Cup winners arrived back home on Monday at the main airport near Paris, greeted by cheering crowds and a guard of honour from the fire brigade which sprayed water over their plane.
Captain Hugo Lloris, flanked by coach Didier Deschamps, was the first to emerge from the Air France aircraft, raising the famed golden trophy before heading down the stairs and on to a freshly laid red carpet.
Tens of thousands of Croatians gave a heroes´ welcome to their team in Zagreb on Monday after the squad returned from Russia following their World Cup final defeat.
A crowd estimated at more than 100,000 thronged the capital´s main square to see the players, led by captain and World Cup Golden Ball winner Luka Modric, parade through the streets on an open-top bus.

Croatia won the match against Russia through penalty kicks 4-3. Both team scored 2-2 goals during first and second half of the game.

In Matches played on 28-06-2018 Poland beats Japan 1-0: Japan reached the last 16 of the World Cup by having a better disciplinary record than Senegal – after losing to Poland in their final Group H game.
Colombia beats Senegal 1-0: Colombia defeated Senegal 1-0 to advance to the World Cup round of 16 as Group H winners in a result that sent the African side out of the competition on the fair play ranking.
England lost to Belgium 1-0: England beaten by Belgium in World Cup and face Colombia in last 16. Belgium finished top of Group G after a 1-0 win over England in Kaliningrad, but find themselves in the tougher side of the knockout draw — containing the likes of Brazil, Portugal, Argentina and France — and face Japan in the round of 16.
Tunisia beats Panama 2-1: Tunisia, playing fluent and composed football, dominated the match but were trailing 1-0 at halftime after a shot by Panama’s Jose Luis Rodriguez took a deflection off Tunisian defender Yassine Meriah in the 33rd minute. Panama pushed hard and caused anxious moments for Tunisia, but lacked killer instinct.
Yesterday (27-06-2018) South Korea beats Germany by 2-0: Defending champions Germany have been eliminated from the World Cup at the group stage following defeat by South Korea.
Sweden won over Mexico by 3-0: Mexico fell 3-0 to Sweden as both teams went through to the round of 16 of the World Cup.
Switzerland and CostaRica had a draw by 2-2: Switzerland set up a World Cup last-16 tie with Sweden after a draw with Costa Rica that featured a bizarre late penalty drama.
Brazil beats Serbia by 2-0: Brazil was in danger of being eliminated before its final clash but a 2-0 win over Serbia ensured it finished top of Group E.
Matches played yesterday (26-06-2018) observed Australia loosing to Peru by 2-0. Australia is out of the FIFA World Cup after a dispiriting 2-0 loss to already-eliminated Peru to finish bottom of Group C.
France and Denmark drew 0-0.
Croatia Betas Iceland by 2-1: Iceland failed in their attempt to reach the World Cup knockout stage for the first time as Croatia secured a late win to top Group D on maximum points.
Argentine leads Nigeria by 2-1: “A huge relief,” Lionel Messi said when it was over. “We knew it was going to be a difficult afternoon. We didn’t think we were going to suffer as much as we did.”

Belgium Beats Tunisia 5-2: Belgium moved to the brink of the World Cup knockout rounds after a comprehensive 5-2 win against Tunisia.
Switzerland Beat Serbia By 2-1 (22-06-2018): A last-minute Xherdan Shaqiri breakaway goal handed Switzerland victory as they came from behind to defeat Serbia 2-1 in group e match of FIFA World cup 2018 in Kaliningrad.
Nigeria Beat Iceland 2-0: Nigeria moved to within one win of the World Cup last 16 as Ahmed Musa scored twice in a dramatic second half to secure a 2-Nil victory over Iceland in Volgograd.
Brazil Beat Costa Rica By 2-0: Philippe Coutinho and Neymar scored in injury time as Brazil beat Costa Rica 2-Nil to edge towards the last 16 of the #FIFA World Cup 2018.
Croatia betas Argentine 3 -0 (21-06-2018): Lionel Messi’s World Cup dream was left hanging by a thread as Croatia powered into the last 16.

Japan beat 10-man Colombia 2-1 before Poland lost by the same scoreline to Senegal as the pre-tournament favorites to advance from Group H suffered upsets. Russia beat Egypt (3-1) on Tuesday much to Salah’s disappointment.
Belgium Beat Panama: Romelu Lukaku scored twice as Belgium proved too good for World Cup debutants Panama in the opening match in England’s Group G.
After a goalless first half Belgium, ranked third in the world finally broke Panama’s resistance when Dries Mertens steered in a spectacular 15-yard volley early in the second.
Panama, 55th in the rankings, had a chance to snatch an equaliser but Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was quick off his line to save Michael Murillo’s shot with his legs.
Manchester United striker Lukaku made certain of the victory as he scored with a diving header after a pass from Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne. Lukaku then added a third with a chipped finish after a fine through ball from Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.
Sweden Beat South Korea: Competing at a World Cup for the first time since 2006, Sweden deserved to win a match which was peppered with more fouls than flair.
Sweden, who knocked out Italy in the playoffs to reach Russia 2018, had chances to go ahead before Granqvist’s 65th-minute penalty but was denied by a brilliant goalkeeping display by Kim Seungguy.
Swiss Draw With Brazil In Opening Match: Pre-tournament favorites Brazil failed to win their opening game of a World Cup for the first time since 1978 as Switzerland earned a valuable draw in Rostov-on-Don.
The five-time champions, so often lauded for their flair, failed to sparkle after Philippe Coutinho’s superbly curled opener on 20 minutes.
Mexico Beat Germany: Mexico, despite possessing the ball only 41 per cent of the time, had Germany on its heels all match. El Tri made Die Mannschaft look lackadaisical on defence and on offence, Germany had few clear chances despite a walloping 26 shots — twice the number Mexico took. No wonder there were so many tears on Mexico’s sideline after.
Germany, at least, may take some solace knowing the World Cup holders haven’t won their opening game in four of the last five tournaments.
France Beat Australia By 2-1: (16-06-2018): France open their World Cup campaign with 2-1 victory over Australia in the opening Group C match at Kazan Arena.
Antoine Griezmann scored from the first VAR-assisted penalty awarded in the history of the World Cup as title hopefuls France battled to a 2-1 win over gutsy Australia.
Uruguay beat Egypt by 1-0: (15-06-2018). Defender Jose Gimenez was the unlikely hero with a towering last-minute winning header, after Egypt had impressed with their organization.
Iran won by 1-0 against Morocco. Iran made it. A second ever win at a World Cup. Team Melli found itself still in the game come the closing stages after being under pressure in the opening minutes.
Ronaldo’s hat-trick helped Portugal to draw its 2018 FIFA World Cup first stage Group B match vs Spain by 3-3
