Fitness Camp For Men In Green: Ahead of the national cricket team’s tour of England fitness camp will be established on the April 9th and 10th after which the national squad will be finalized. After being finalized the selected players will participate in the skills camp which will be from April 11th to 23rd. The national cricket squad will be leaving the country at the end of this month to play in Ireland, England and Scotland. After a four day warm up match against county side Kent they will play their First Test match with
Ireland. In England they will play a two-test series, followed by two Twenty20 internationals (T20I) with Scotland.

For fitness and skills camp ahead of the Men in Green cricket matches in UK, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has summoned all centrally contracted players, along with a few others for their participation. Pakistan has to work hard to win test series as the record of last year do not give good ranking with Pakistan suffering a 2-0 whitewash against Sri Lanka at home that gave them a considerable slip down the rankings table in the longest format of the game.

International Day of Sport For Development and Peace

In another happening, the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) is celebrating the “International Day of Sport for Development and Peace” in collaboration with Beaconhouse National University Lahore at its main campus. The International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (IDSDP) is an annual celebration that highlights and promotes the power of sport as a facilitator for social change in all corners of the world. Since 2014, following a decision by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, the IDSDP is being celebrated on the 6th of April every year creating a historical link to the first modern Olympic Games in 1896.

On this occasion Manzoorul Hassan (Hockey Olympian) and Ms Eesha Khan (Swimmer) will share their views on “Peace through Sports and the Spirit of Olympics” with students of Beaconhouse National University (BNU). Peace Walk and White Card Showing ceremony will also be held as a symbolic demonstration to show solidarity with the international campaign of peace through sports.
