Heatwave And Fasting In Summer: Pakistan is struck with hot temperatures and all people think while opening their fast is drinking water and other cold drinks. In order to cope with the remaining days of fasting during this scorching summer we have some solution that ensure the smooth, hydrated and healthy fasting days of Ramadan.
- Less Physical Activity
It is tough for people with field jobs but it can be managed by dividing tasks util fast is break so that you feel less tired.
- Shower Time
Taking multiple showers can keep you referesh with just one bucket of water. Every time we do ablution for prayer keeps us also intact with water.
- Wear cap and sunglasses when going out.
- Good Sehri: Do not fill up much in sehri because over eating makes you feel hotter and dehydrated. Plain yougurt and dates are a good source of hydration while for iftar eats fruits like melons, strawberries, tomatoes etc.
- Avoid Caffeine: Tea and coffee increase body salt excretion.
By improving food choices, healthy eating, drinking water can help you feel healthy also focused towards as much prayers during month of Ramadan.
Lassi To Cope Up With Heatwave
Due to high nutritional value this lassi will be a perfect drink for sehri and will be great to pass the whole fast without feeling thirsty at all in this hot season.
Ingredients:
● 2 Cups Yogurt
● ¼ cup Chilled Milk
● 3 tbsp. Sugar
● Cardamom powder (Optional)
● 2 tbsp. Pistachios (Chopped)
Method:
Take yogurt, chilled milk and sugar in a large bowl or jug and whisk it until you feel the sugar has dissolved.
Put half of the pistachios and whisk again to until a foamy layer is formed. Garnish with rest of the pistachios and you are all set to consume a cool and refreshing drink.
