ICC Constituted Dispute Resolution Committee For PCB And BCCI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has increased its efforts to put up a strong defence in their financial compensation case against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The PCB has officially launched a complaint against BCCI for not honouring the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both boards at the time of the formation of ‘Big Three’ and asked for compensation of $70 million for financial loses.

To resolve this matter, ICC constituted a three-member dispute resolution committee which will hear both parties on October 3 in Dubai later this year.

According to sources, both PCB and BCCI have submitted their written responses to the committee and are now waiting to receive the opposition’s replies.

Pakistan and India were supposed to play six bilateral series starting from 2015 till 2023, four of which were supposed to be hosted by the Men in Green.

However, the BCCI hasn’t fulfilled its commitment; citing political tension between the two countries as the reason for cancelling all bilateral ties.

PCB officials — including chairman Najam Sethi, COO Subhan Ahmed and others — will meet lawyers in the United Kingdom next week.

Meanwhile, the PCB has pulled up their socks in their compensation case against the BCCI. The board has lodged a complaint against India’s cricket board for not abiding by the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by both the boards and asked for a compensation of $70 million owing to financial losses as per reports in The Tribune Express.

India and Pakistan’s last international match was during the final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy. Their next clash is scheduled to be in the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England and Wales. Their last bilateral series took place in 2012/13 when the Men in Green toured India for an ODI and a T20I series.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have been at loggerheads with each other over the past few years. Their relationship has only seen a downward trend and an improvement in the same isn’t expected at least in the short run. The teams also won’t be taking part in any bilateral series as per the Future Tours Programme (FTP) released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the next five years.

However, the antagonists will lock horns in ICC events. They were slated to play six bilateral series from 2015 to 2023 out of which four were supposed to be hosted by Pakistan. Nevertheless, political tensions between the two nations ensured that their all their cricketing ties got cancelled. The Indian government’s intervention is the reason cited by the BCCI for not playing cricket with them.
