ISPR says, unprovoked firing by the Indians at LoC results in the death of 2 civilians

Due to the unprovoked firing by the Indian Border Forces along the Line of Control (LoC) at least two civilians including a girl were killed and three more were injured, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated.

The military’s media wing has stated that the Indian army opened fire at Chirikot and Satwal Sectors.
ISPR further added that the Pakistani forces effectively responded to the Indian aggression.

On 20th June 2017, the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Kashmir Affairs had been informed by the Director general (DG) of the Disaster Management Authority (DMA) that the ceasefire violations by the Indian side across the Line of Control (LoC) has killed at least 832 civilians.

The session was headed by Khalil George Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA.

The committee was told by the DMA DG Zaheeruddin Qureshi that more than 400,000 people are residing along the LoC and due to India’s unprovoked firing those people are under constant threat. The DMA DG has revealed that due to the Indian violations of ceasefire 832 civilians have been martyred, while 3000 have been injured and a further 3300 houses have been damaged.
