Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Javed Latif “wholeheartedly” apologised to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) Murad Saaed on Thursday over his offensive remarks for the latter and his family.

“I said those words in the heat of the moment and I wholeheartedly apologise for all my remarks,” Latif said. “I regret passing the coarse comments.”

He also extended apology to Murad Saeed’s female family members whom he had abused outside the National Assembly on March 9.

The issue was peacefully resolved by a committee chaired by Shah Jee Gull Afridi, a representative of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

“The committee has decided to disregard the suggestion of banning both leaders from the assembly,” stated Afridi.

The scuffle between the two members of National Assembly was caught by camera and the video of which clearly showed Javed Latif slandering Murad Saaed’s female family members.
