Misbah promotes Pakistan to put up convincing play at ICC Champions Trophy: HumSub.TV: Test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq expressed positive views for Pakistan on Thursday while endorsing Sarfraz Ahmad as the appropriate choice as the One-Day Internationals (ODI) captain.
While speaking to media at the National Stadium during the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy Nissan Trophy tour of the city, Misbah said he anticipated Pakistan to put up a good show during the global competition, which takes place in England from June 1 to 18.
Misbah said Sarfraz has done extremely well as Pakistan T20 skipper, winning all five matches since they are appointed last year after the team’s humiliation at the ICC World Twenty20 in India.
“I think Sarfraz deserves this honour [leading Pakistan in ODIs]. His performance so far has been excellent in the T20 format. He thinks positive and it shows as the team under his leadership is playing well. We as a nation should back him since he brings lot of energy in his style [of captaincy],” Misbah commented.“
