Over dozen fire tenders extinguishing intense factory blaze in Gujranwala: A plastic goods manufacturing factory caught fire here on Thursday, following which at least 12 fire brigade vehicles reached the site of the incident to douse the high-intensity blaze.
A two-storey plastic factory caught fire earlier today which gained intensity over time. Keeping in view the intensity of the fire, nearby buildings were evacuated, informed rescue officials.
No loss of life has been reported up till now. The fire brigade officials did not give a time frame as to when the fire would likely be controlled.
A crane and other rescue vehicles were also called to the site in order to douse the fire which has been raging since five hours.
The fire caused huge cracks in the factory’s exterior and the building became susceptible to collapse, said sources.
According to the latest update, the rescue team, comprising over 60 officials, was waiting for the building to collapse so it could be easier to control the fire.
Earlier, the rescue team was stopped from an operation as their lives could have been endangered due to the blaze.
On Wednesday, rescue officials with great effort extinguished an inferno at Islamabad’s Sasta Bazaar, Sector H-9. The inferno gutted more than 1,000 stalls, said officials.
