Pakistan asked to take all necessary measures to recover Chinese citizens by China: The purpose of the team is to ensure their safe recovery. The Chinese foreign ministry had asked Pakistani authorities to “take all necessary measures and do their best to rescue the kidnapped Chinese.”

According to the Police sources, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Chief Aitzaz Goraya will be leading the investigation.

The Superintendent of Police Investigation and the Superintendent of Police, Saddar both will be part of the investigation team.

Earlier on Wednesday 24th, May, 2017, three unidentified armed men who were posing as cops had picked up two Chinese nationals one man and one woman from the Jinnah Town area of the city.

The kidnappers had also tried to take away another Chinese woman but she had ran away. The kidnapped pair had taught Chinese language in a centre which is run by a Korean national.

According to the sources, three people in a white car intercepted the Chinese nationals when they were leaving the language centre and forced them into the vehicle at gunpoint.

According to witness accounts and the video footage grabbed by closed circuit television camera, police said the kidnappers were waiting in the car parked on the roadside.

Balochistan’s Inspector General of Police Ahsan Mehboob visited the site of the incident on Thursday 25th, May, 2017, and spoke to officials regarding to the kidnapping.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said China had asked Pakistani authorities to “take all necessary measures and do their best to rescue the kidnapped Chinese.”

Lu added that the two governments were coordinating to ensure the safety of other Chinese citizens in Pakistan.
