Pakistan Beat Zimbabwe In First Match of Tri-Series

Pakistan Beat Zimbabwe In First Match of Tri-Series: Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 74 runs in the in the inaugural match of T-20 triangular cricket series in Harare.

Zimbabwe, chasing a target of 183, could not really stand up to Pakistan’s quality bowling and were bundled out on 108 with Musakanda the top scorer on 43.

Earlier, Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali’s late charge powered Pakistan to 182 for 4 against Zimbabwe. After Zimbabwe put Pakistan into bat, Pakistan looked to post a modest total, as they lost four wickets for 120 in the fifteenth over. Fakhar Zaman, the only batsman to cross fifty-run mark, fell to Chisoro, after scoring 61 of 40 balls.

But then veteran Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali took charge, adding unbeaten 62 runs to the total in last five point two overs. Malik’s brisk 37 of 24 while Asif’s 41 run blitz of just 21 deliveries helped Pakistan post a challenging total of 182 for 4 against host Zimbabweans.

Besides host Zimbabwe, Australia is also taking part in the event which will continue till 8th of the next month.

Pakistani team will also play a five-match ODI series against Zimbabwe starting from 13th of July.

National squad includes captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Asif Ali, Hussain Talat, Haris Sohail, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Fahim Ashraf, Hassan Ali, Mohammad Amir, Usman Khan Shinwari, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sahibzada Farhan.

Pakistan will play against Zimbabwe in first match on July 1st, the national team will face Australia on July 2. While, Australia and Zimbabwe teams will face each other on July 3.

Pakistan-Zimbabwe encounter in second match will be seen on July 4, Pakistan vs Australia is scheduled on July 5. Zimbabwe and Australia will compete for the second time on July 6. While on July 8th, two best teams will be competing in the final.
