PM Abbasi to meet Nawaz in London
After his participation in the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrived in London.
The PM Abbasi will meet the former premier Nawaz Sharif in London, the top leadership of PML-N has gathered for a consultative meeting in London. The meeting will be attended by Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, among others.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also be reaching London today, where he will join the PML-N leaders for the meeting, which will be chaired by Nawaz Sharif.
Country’s political situation and the court cases against the Sharif family along with other matters will be discussed in the meeting. Important decisions regarding party leadership are also expected to be undertaken during the meeting.
Nawaz Sharif is in London to be with his wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, who is under treatment for throat cancer.
The Senate on Friday passed the Electoral Reforms Bill 2017, which paves the way for Nawaz Sharif to again regain chairmanship of PML-N. According to the bill, every citizen will have the right to be part of a political party, except those in government service, and will also have the right to create a political party.
