Punjab police received 4,500 redesigned uniforms on Tuesday in the first phase of changing police uniforms.

The process is to be completed on March 30 whereby police officials would wear olive-green uniforms, a colour unanimously chosen by the special committee constituted by Punjab Inspector General.

The proposal to change the colour of the uniform was submitted in 2012 in wake of difficulties faced by police officers in performing their duties while wearing black shirts in summers.
