Punjab Supplementary Budget For 2018-19: The Punjab government has presented its supplementary budget with a total outlay of Rs. 856 million

Earlier, in the meeting presided by Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Punjab cabinet had approved the supplementary budget and revised estimates for financial year (FY) 2017-18.

The provincial Finance Minister Dr Aisha Ghaus Pasha, while presenting the budget, said the next budget will be presented by the incoming government. She stated that the incumbent Punjab government had laid a network of roads, ended the power crisis in the province, and thousands were provided employment by way of development projects such as the Orange Line and Metro Bus projects.

According to the finance minister, the provincial government had executed a record number of development projects in the past five years. The achievements in many sectors including health, education, development, in comparison to other provinces, are exemplary.

Finance Minister Ayesha Ghous Pasha said the government prepared the budget for the complete year but decided not to present it.

Supplementary Budget Includes Revising  The Already Ongoing Development Projects

  • Provincial cabinet Punjab has given approval of supplementary budget, revised estimates and revised annual development for the financial year 2017-18.

The chief minister said that Punjab government is presenting the supplementary budget for the financial year 2017-18 and the next government will present the new budget.

He said that Punjab government has spent resources on public welfare by considering them as a sacred trust and added that welfare of the masses has always been given preference.

He said that judicial e-stamp papers program is a revolutionary step having far-reaching impacts and due to it, billions of rupees have been deposited in the government kitty during the current fiscal year.

Members of the opposition tore copies of the budget and created a commotion in the House.
