Reporter of Qudrat paper arrested by FIA
Quetta based daily newspaper Qudrat’s newspaper reporter of, was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday, 25th June 2017, for allegedly writing against “national security institutions” on social media, said members of his family.
FIA officials have said that Zafarullah Achakzai was taken into custody under the prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 afterwards he had been produced in a court of the judicial magistrate.
The court had given a remand for Achakzai in custody of the Federal Investigation Agency for six days.
The father of the arrested who is also the editor in chief of daily Qudrat Niamutullah Achakza was told on Thursday, 29th June 2017, that his son had been taken into custody under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016.
Zafarullah’s relatives have said that, personnel of a security agency had taken Zafarullah Achakzai into custody in the early hours of Sunday morning after cordoning off his residence, told joint meeting of the Balochistan Union of Journalists and other bodies.
