Sindh cabinet green signals to change Altaf Hussain University’s name

Sindh government in a cabinet meeting on Monday approved the change of Altaf Hussain University’s name to Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah University in wake of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief’s anti-Pakistan remarks.

The meeting was chaired by Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah wherein he told the participants the needlessness to establish a university after a person who conspires against Pakistan to destabilise the country.

It is pertinent to mention here that the groundbreaking ceremony of Altaf Hussain University was held in January 2015 and the university was constructed on 80 acres of land acquired at the cost of Rs380 million from Hyderabad Development Authority.

It will offer business studies, information technology and mass communication along with other subjects.
