Supreme Court inquiry into JIT interference demanded by Aitzaz Ahsans: Aitzaz Ahsan the Opposition Leader in the Senate, has demanded that a full court bench of the Supreme Court investigates reports that the court’s registrar had interfered with the Panama case probe.
After the Parliament’s joint session on Thursday 31st, May, 2017, talking to the media alongside other opposition leaders, Pakistan Peoples Party senator had alleged that the prime minister had planted a news report to pressurise the Supreme Court.
According to a recent article, in which a claim was made that the Supreme Court registrar had made a WhatsApp and FaceTime call to the chairman of the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, in which he had suggested a particular name for inclusion in the Panama case Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
Aitzaz Ahsan had termed it as a fabricated story, Mr Ahsan furthermore alleged that the prime minister wants to make the JIT and the Supreme Court controversial as they are investigating his financial dealings abroad.
Furthermore, Mr Ahsan added that an action should be against the registrar if he is found guilty, he further urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take this news report seriously.
While talking about the outbursts of former PML-N senator Nehal Hashmi’s against ‘those investigating the PM‘ Ahsan claimed that Mr Hashmi was speaking the words of Nawaz Sharif. Mr Ahsand claimed that the former senator had gotten carried away in his message, but would still be awarded by the PM later on.
