Upon Arrival Nawaz Sharif And Maryam Nawaz Will Be Taken To Adiala Jail Through Helicopter: NAB has decided to shift former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz to Adiala Jail through helicopter from the airport.

Sources told that the anti-graft watchdog’s Lahore Director General Shahzad Saleem has written a letter to Bureau chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal stating that Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz should be shifted to adiala jail from airport soon after they return to Lahore.

The letter further stated that the accountability court judge will also be invited to jail to oversee arrangements.

On the other hand, Lahore police has made stringent security arrangements in case the arrest could not be made at the Allama Iqbal International Airport.

Sources privy to the police said that keeping in view security, the route of Nawaz Sharif has been divided into two parts.

Police officials have declared 24 places of the rout as sensitive, while 2500 police personnel will be deputed for security. The personnel will include Anti-Riots Force (ARF), Patrolling and Elite Force.

Sources said that the PML-N workers would be allowed to gather outside the airport premises but no one would be allowed to take break the law.

It is to be mentioned here that the father-daughter duo had announced to return Pakistan from London on July 13 after accountability court announced verdict in Avenfield reference.

The anti-graft agency had already arrested Nawaz’s son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar from Rawalpindi.

Earlier, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was convicted and sentenced to prison in absentia by the accountability court, in a verdict that is likely to further disrupt an already chaotic campaign for national elections this month.

The sentence, 10 years in prison and a fine of 8 million pounds, or $10.6 million, came almost a year after Supreme Court removed Sharif from office and less than five months after the court barred him from holding office for life.

The case stemmed from the Panama Papers leak that disclosed expensive and undeclared property owned by the Sharif family in London.

The verdict marked a further fall for the PML-N supremo, who has been Pakistan’s prime minister three times but never completed a term.

From the start of the ex-PM’s legal troubles in 2016, Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her husband, Muhammad Safdar, were also convicted, with Ms. Sharif sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of 2 million pounds and Safdar sentenced to one year in prison.

The court also ordered the seizure of the Sharif family’s four apartments at Avenfield House, a luxury building next to Hyde Park in London.
